MVC XForms Release 1 on codeplex

I have finally got round to publishing the codeplex project. I would really appreciate questions and feedback. Anything from XForms, generics and fluent API to project setup and unit tests.

Hi Jon,
I'm always impressed by people who go to the effort of publishing their code, I appreciate the huge amount of work that involves. Well done!
I've downloaded your code from CodePlex and hit the run button but get an error in StructureMapControllerFactory.GetControllerInstance() I have had the same problem in my own code that sometimes controllerType is null. I don't know why it happens (haven't really bothered to investigate) but the workaround is very simple. Just check if controllerType is null and return null if it is. The code I have used is

protected override IController GetControllerInstance(Type controllerType) {
IController controller = null;
if (controllerType != null)
{
try
{
controller = ObjectFactory.GetInstance(controllerType) as Controller;
}
catch (StructureMapException)
{
Debug.WriteLine(ObjectFactory.WhatDoIHave());
throw;
}
}
return controller;
}

after that change life is good. I probably won't have time to play more before Christmas and give any feedback but thought I might be able to help others who hit this particular problem.

Hi Paul,

I have seen that error, but can't reproduce it now. I know the same error occurs when there are resources such as css and js that are referenced in the HTML, but don't exist - so I like to use the code as a check for this.

There is not really a need for dependency injection in the example, I just tried to keep it "real life" with a pseudo 3-tier structure.

Lol. If you find any more problems let me know. Hopefully I'll have the time to create some more example pages soon, especially for the javascript API.
